100 Years of World Animal Day

On October 4th we celebrate World animal day and it's the 100th year that we celebrate this day

The theme of 2025 is "Save Animals, Save the Planet" - to celebrate the connection between animal welfare and the health of our planet

How can animal welfare save the planet?

 

1. As pet owners:
✅ Rescue a stray to reduce overpopulation
✅ use eco friendly products
       Eco friendly pet food/supplements
       Feeding pets sustainably sourced food
       Biodegradable poop bags
       Natural grooming products
✅ Feed a stray saves a life

2. As veterinary professionals:
Frontline defenders in animal welfare and the environment

✅ support preventive care
   Less illness, fewer use of antibiotics
✅ help pet owners understand the link between welfare and sustainability
✅ advocate on spay/neuter and wildlife conservation
✅ advocate on animal welfare. Highly influential in how animals are treated at homes, farms, shelters and zoos

3. As entrepreneurs/business personnel
Build businesses that care for animals and the earth

✅ Moving away from industrial scale meat  production
    - reduces green house gas effect
    - Adhere to humane farming with fewer resources
    - reduce deforestation
    - more water conservation
    - less soil pollution
   - less need for antibiotics
✅ Offer sustainable animal services (eco conscious grooming, ethical pet boarding)
✅ Build sustainable innovations that improve animal welfare in farms

4. As corporate workers/ emoloyees
Your choices and voice matter even at work

Even if you don't work with animals,
✅ support sustainable brands (Pet Labs (™️), Spotz)
✅ advocate for animal friendly company policies
✅ bring values into your daily habits (avoid fast fashion, compassion to starys)
 

People will then be more connected to nature
