Puppies and Supplements
Puppies don't need 5 to 6 supplements. I have just decided to speak up on this.
For various agenda, puppies are put on 5-6 commercial supplement products from the time they get sold to a new pet owner. This
๐ initiates an early imbalance of nutrition
๐ is a waste of money of the pet owner
Again, when the puppy turns 3 months, he/she is put on another new set of commercial products - multiple products with scattered focus. This leads to chronic diseases. Excessive accumulation of calcium along with a diet with high oxalates in a Shih Tzu may lead to crystal formation in urine. This is the downside of over supplementation.
๐Bringing the best out of your pet:
The accurate vitamins needed by a pet is decided with his diet, breed and purpose. It has to be a combined effect of all three. The diet needs to be analyzed to decide the supplements - this is how we bring the best out of the pet
A veterinarian who is also a veterinary nutritionist is the ideal to decide which vitamins are exactly needed by your pet whether it is a cat or a dog. This is where I can help as a practicing veterinarian, veterinary nutritionist in general health and disease - to make sure that the puppy is neither over fed nor under fed with dietary supplements
