SPD(™️) Slow Cooked Lamb & Blueberry Puppy Food by PRIME100 : Review

PRIME100 produces pet food and pet treats for both dogs and cats. Out of their range of maintenance meals I chose SPD™️ Slow Cooked Lamb & Blueberry Puppy FoodLet's delve into its features to see if the product is really safe and actually worth your investment

SPD(™️) Lamb & Blueberry Puppy Food is a complete and balanced diet which means that this meal contains all the essential nutrients that a puppy needs every day.

Ingredient list:
Australian lamb, sweet potato, bamboo fiber, vitamins and minerals, blueberries, functional oils (sunflower, flaxseed, algae), Algimun®️, pumpkin, salt, chicory root extract, Trumune®️, postbiotics, carrots, psyllium husk, Taurine, glucosamine, chondroitin

This is a single protein diet - contains only one source of meat protein; lamb in this case. The diet contains  Australian lamb (but not specifically mentioned as grass-fed), functional fruits, natural prebiotics and interestingly, added postbiotics as its ingredients

I love the addition of postbiotics over probiotics for the fact that the triggers caused by postbiotics on gut health have been proven less than that by prebiotics. Good job! Also, this meal is slow cooked to preserve the nutrients in each bite

I have independently analyzed the nutrients and I realize that SPD(™️) Lamb & Blueberry Puppy Food has been given much thought when crafting the product's nutrition and portion sizing, packaging and the level of user friendly-ness of both the product and the website. They are on point. All of the hard work is much appreciated

Product packaging is an attractive tetra pack and nothing to complain about as it makes the product more easy to use and sufficiently maintains freshness and quality of the food

What I love about the product:
1. Contains a single protein - simple and safe
2. Pet nutrition is on point. Love it!
3. Complies with label claims and the mentioned health benefits
4. Includes high quality ingredients
5. Responsible packaging option and label
6. Use of postbiotics and taurine

Areas for improvement:
1. Contains seed oils. Could be replaced by more healthy oils
2. Label improvements: ethical sourcing of ingredients, contains ALL human grade ingredients? (if it actually does)

What I don't like about the product:
1. I believe that the product contains preservatives (I do understand the fact that unless produced on pre order basis, it's mostly impossible to not have preservatives in food)

2. Glucosamine and chondroitin are overrated but do they really produce a biological effect when supplemented externally? A controversial topic that has given mixed or even less results in clinical trials

The mission of PRIME100  aligns  with our mission at Pet Labs(™️) to heal pets through food(™️); to prevent, cure or support pets with chronic diseases(™️). The same reason why I chose this product for a review

In my opinion SPD(™️) Lamb & Blueberry Puppy Food would be most appropriate as a maintenance meal for puppies

I would recommend SPD(™️) Lamb & Blueberry Puppy Pet Food as a maintenance meal for healthy puppies with no underlying disease. If the added preservatives are not harmful I would recommend it for everyday use long term. Do not hesitate to check with the manufacturer on this. Share with me your insights
