Dehydrated Chicken Feet by Canis: Review
It's chewy, it's delish, can I have more of "the uglies? Says Molly the stray dog whom we feed daily
The Canis dehydrated chicken feet is available as a treat for dogs. The product comes in a box with 20 pieces of chicken feet packed in a grip seal bag
The ingredient is chicken feet
The product package mentions that it's a species appropriate treat that gives ghem an added boost of protein as well as Chondroitin and Glucosamine. It also mentions that the chicken feet are gently dried to preserve the nutrients and taste with every bite. The nutritional analysis is also available on the packaging and a few other standard food symbols are also marked on the box
I personally love how attractive their slogans are: "Bark'n good food" and "THE UGLIES"
The analysis:
1. Nutrition
There's nothing to complain about
Note that when introducing and using the product, it's better to consult a veterinarian &/or a veterinary nutritionist about the dietary changes that should be made along with the use of this product to suit your particular dog's daily diet - should be on the product label
2. Palatability
Moderately good in my personal opinion
Too hard to chew on for some dogs
What I like most about the product:
1. Locally manufactured: made in Sri Lanka
2. No added preservatives, artificial flavours, colours and chemicals : which I agree with
3. A high content of protein helps in metabolism
4. Mostly palatable
5. Help reduce teeth tartar - improves gum and dental health
We suggest an improvement in the details of the product label in terms of safety and use. To a certain extent we wouldn't accept the claim that this product promotes joint health due to the fact that
1. This is a treat. Treats are not for daily use unless adjusted for daily calories
2. Does not contain optimum amounts of Ca:P but the product does contain Calcium to a certain extent
3. The effect of the presence of micromolecules such as hyaluronic acid, glucosamine and chondroitin are negligible
Dehydrated Chicken Feet by Canis performs well just as how it should, as a treat but should not be used as a maintenance diet due to the lack of certain other nutrients
All in all Dehydrated Chicken Feet by Canis is a safe product for pets that align with our mission, which is why it was selected for a review
We recommend Dehydrated Chicken Feet by Canis as a treat that can be fed occasionally or daily when adjusted for calories
The product is available on their Instagram Page of Canis
